What it is
Devotion is a role one asks for. Whoever chooses it wishes to pay homage: to watch over my comfort, to anticipate my wishes, to prepare a tea at the right temperature, to lay a table, to keep a rhythm. Every gesture becomes an offering.
How it unfolds
It is learnt like a ritual: through demonstration, repetition, correction and attention to detail. I set the ceremony; you carry it out, then refine it from one meeting to the next.
Paying homage is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a form of excellence turned towards someone else, and many find in it a rare calm: that of being wholly present to a single gesture.
